OK, this all is getting old. I has been almost 2 months with this dang blue collar on. It is hard for me to sleep, it is hard for me to eat, it is hard for me to drink, it is just plain hard for me. I have also been to the V-E-T three times in 2 months. The poking, the prodding, the shots up in the butt are all no fun. Notice my MAD look in my photo at the vet.

OK, here is the deal. My tail itches and I want to scratch it, I want to chew it, and I want it to feel better. All these humans don't seem to want me to scratch or chew my tail for some reason. It isn't their tail!!! I keep telling them how MAD I am that they are interfering with my tail. Boo hiss on them.

conehead - no way!

I showed them! Not only having to go to the vet over and over again, which was bad enough, the vet put a conehead on me! A conehead! Yikes! I did not like that at all. I showed them. For 5 hours straight, I took that cone everywhere in the house. I pushed over glasses, pushed my water, wanted food but could not eat it, and push that bowl around too! I ran head on into walls and furniture. I hate the conehead! I HATE IT! Ah, finally, after 5 hours, they took that dang thing off. Phew! I got to eat again and drink again! Never again will I have a cone head!

But then, the next day, they put this sailor life ring around my neck. Sheesh! When will I catch a break! I mean, I can't lick and chew on my tail anymore. NO FUN! I want to chew on my tail! It is my tail and I think I should be able to chew on it. Someone, could you please get this blow up blue ring off my neck please!

I can't believe this happened. It all went wrong. The she human came home and I was all ready for dinner! Oh, I was so excited! Then she picked me up and shoved me into that blue box, and she said vet time, I told you for days. Whatever, she didn't speak cat, so how was I supposed to know. Oh, that blue box is never good for me. Then she picked me up and took me to this unbelievable hot and sunny room she calls a car. I was a little upset, but at least the sun was nice. I kept on trying to say things to her, to let me out, to take me home, and she would not listen. Then, we went into that vet place where a woofie ran up to me while barking. Oh, I was so scared, I peed my fur. Oh the indignity of it all. I had pee all on my butt, tail and paws. Not the best day I have ever had.

Lucy, the best working girl cat

With great sadness, I am telling the world that Lucy has gone missing for over 2 weeks. I suspect she met her time, and crawled off to a quite place to rest and go over the rainbow bridge. Lucy Cat was a great girl kitty. She was nearly 20 years old. One day, nearly 20 years ago Lucy Cat, knocked up, showed up at the front gate at that aeronautics place looking for a little food, water and a place to have her kittens. How do you turn away a face like that. So, the powers that be gave Lucy Kitty a soft pillow in the warehouse. The kittens came and grew, and all but one went off to a furrever home. Peanut her big boy stayed with Lucy to keep her company, and Lucy Cat, from then on went to work.

For her whole adult life, she has been on the aeronautics payroll to keep the vermin out of the warehouse at the big aeronautics place. Everyday she inspected the incoming boxes, and the out going boxes to make sure there are no vermin to be had. She inspected all who walked into the warehouse day in and day out vigilantly 7 days per week, every week of the year, for nearly 20 years. Lucy was a dedicated cat. In return, all she asked for was some water, food, and an occasional pet or 2. Not much for all that she did for that warehouse.

Lucy, where ever you are, know that I miss you. I still remember the first day I met you nearly 13 years ago. You inspected all of us who came to the warehouse that day to make sure we were ok to be there. And, every single time I stepped in to the warehouse to see you, you made sure you came to see me as we became friends over the years. Yeah, and you knew, I really have no business in the warehouse, but you let me be there anyway. Thank you for taking care of the warehouse, thank you for watching out for all who came and went in the warehouse for all these years. Thank you for being so kind and sweet. I will all miss you dear one. Love, pets, and purrs.

Catloaf! I learned what catloaf is from my brother of another mother, Tober. He taught me the word catloaf. I wanted to practice being a catloaf. Here I am, a catloaf. Notice, my front paws, rear paws and tail (that is tricky) are all in the catloaf. I think I did really well being a catloaf.

My Portrait - Feed Me!

This is my portrait taken this morning. It is called Feed Me! Ya see, the guy got up early and fed me. Then the gal got up, and she usually feeds me. So, I was expecting her to do her normal thing, and reach into that bag of food and give me food. She did not do her normal thing. I was speechless, all I could do was sit there and wonder why she is not doing her normal thing and feed me!

I think I found my Brother of Another Mother! See the left side of the photo, he is Tober, the world famous Thorntown, IN, USA Library Cat. Tober is just a smart kitty who is the boss at the Thorntown, IN library. Tober looks so much like me! See the right side of the photo, she is me, Kitikata-san, the most extraordinary Orange Girl Cat from Nashville, TN, USA. I believe Tober is my Brother of Another Mother! Look at him, he is my brother! He looks so much like me!

In the winter, when the sunbeams are long into the window, I have this pal that follows me around. It is this dark cat that doesn't speak, isn't furry, and does what I do. I sit, dark cat sits. I sleep, dark cat sleeps. I jump, dark cat jumps. Then when the sun goes down, and it is time for dinner, dark cat leaves. I am so glad I do not have to share my dinner with dark cat.

Must eat less

The doctor said I must eat less. I should not have any snacks. I should not eat any extra wet food. I am supposed to have just a little dry cat food in the morning and again in the evening. The doctor said I should be 2 lbs less. But I looks so good? I don't need to lose 2 lbs do i?

This kitty is an old kitty. She lives at Papakea on Maui. She came one day onto the grounds of Papakea while pregnant. The Papakea staff said they liked this bobtail kitty, and helped her have her kittens and let her stay with them at Papakea. Everyone loves the Papakea kitty and the kittens. The staff likes to feed them, and leave fresh water for them. This kitty and the kittens make sure there are no mice or other vermin living at the beautiful place. Thank you kitty!

My human was off seeing other cats again. This is one of them. She lives outside at IAO State Park in the center of Maui Island, in Maui County, Hawaii. IAO Cat was just sitting there posing for photos. There were a lot of humans taking her photo. I am betting that IAO Cat might have some human(s) coming to see her every once in a while to feed her. She lives in a Hawaii state park with no car access, so at least she has a low risk of being hit by a car, as long as she stays away from the parking lot. There is a beautiful babbling brook fed by rainfall on top of the mountain, so IAO Cat has natural water to drink. She is one of the lucky strays on the island of Maui. There are plenty more strays that are not so lucky. There is a real problem with "dumped" cats and dogs on the island. This Orange Kitty is my twin. He got on the roof. He was just relaxing on the roof looking down around him. He was asking, "What is going on down there?" My question to him is, "What is going on up there?"

Update: At the end of last week, the roofers had to come fix many damaged shingles, broken eaves, ripped flashing and damaged sealing which all got damaged during the Nashville May 1,2 Flood. You remember me telling you about how we a 1000 (thousand) year flood event Nashville had right? When the roofers came, this orange kitty got scared and ran away before we could snatch him up and take him into the house. We have not seen him since the roofers came. Anyone seen him. We would like to let him have his spot back on top of the house.

Lucy is the best working cat ever! Here she is posing for a photo. My human always talks about Lucy the best working cat. She was the original guard cat at the warehouse at that rocket ship place. She has been there for 19 years protecting the warehouse from birds, vermon and bugs. She is the best working cat ever. Everyone loves Lucy. My human loves Lucy too, but I am always re-assured that I am loved even more.

What Happened to Peanut?

Peanut hiding upstairs

As you may recall, my human goes away every so often to work at the rocket ship place and comes home to tell me about these working cats Peanut and Lucy. My human says that these cats earn their keep by keeping vermin down at the rocket ship warehouse, and that everyone stops by everyday to pet them and tell them what a good job they are doing. Every time some one new would come into the building, Peanut and Lucy were the welcoming committee and vermin checkers. Yup, they made sure there were no flies on humans. That all ended a couple months ago, and it is a very big mystery. A couple months ago, Peanut, all of a sudden ran away from his duties, and could not be found for days. He was hiding in the corner upstairs of the warehouse he is supposed guard. He is now afraid of the door closing, and he does not like hearing new man voices that he is not familiar, and he will run upstairs and hide. My human said that Peanut looks sad and depressed. What happened to Peanut? It is a mystery.

New Home

I am no strange to moving. I moved into my old home with some old roommates. They were not acceptable because I found myself outside by myself in the middle of winter in a cold snap. How cold is that? Then, I was hauled into the hospital jail. At least I got fed 2 squares per day, and there was some man and some woman fussing over me, and I did not care for them sticking needles and thermometers where the sun don't shine. I did not love it there, but I was happy about the meals. Then there came another man and another woman shoved me in a blue box with holes in it, I protested loudly. This blue box was not going to an acceptable home to me. There was barely any room to turn around, there was some scratch white towel in there, and there was no food and water. They seem to have heard my protests, and finally let me in an acceptable dwelling of which I have grown accustom. There was plenty of food and drink, and few windows that suited me. I got used to this home quite well, and the roommates were nice enough. Then, not too long ago, the roommates tossed me back into the unacceptable blue box. I thought I would never see that blue box again, it is so uncomfortable. Then next thing I know, I am in my home with my roommates, but it is not my home. It smells different, but all my stuff is there. My food bowl, check, my water bowl, check, my condo, check, my treats, check, my box, check. Yup, all very familiar, but not. There are bigger and brighter windows, and there are some scrumptious birds, rabbits and squirrels to see. The roommates keep saying, "Kitty, do you like your new home?" It is new, but old and familiar. I must shed more to make this place smell right.

Peanut

My human did it again. She went to go work at that rocket place again where they keep a couple cats in the warehouse to keep pests away. Peanut and Lucy are the cats who live there and guard the warehouse. Peanut looks just like me, but he is about 3 lbs heavier than me. Peanut could be my twin. Peanut is my brother of another mother. I am glad my human is home to pet me now.

Another One?

Stop with the invasions of my home, my condo, my perch already! Sheeesh! This creature wanting into my perch is Tenrec. Tenrec is a little mammals living in Madagascar. What this Tenrec is doing here, I do not know. I have a feeling the little one did not want me to get lonely when my human sent that bear Sonny (see previous post) on its way, so the little one adopted this Tenrec from the World Wildlife Fund and then WWF sent Tenrec live me. The thing is, I don't have a lot of room in my condo/perch, so I think the Tenrec must live amongst my humans, and leave me to some space in My Perch!

Thanksgiving Cat

There is a big window between me and this kitty, otherwise I could not take a photo of this cutiepie. We went out to our friends farm for Thanksgiving. Our friend takes care of big piggys, some really nice farm dogs who look after the piggys, and a lot of stray cats. Most of the stray cats here are black like the one in the photo. There is one that looks like a black and white cow, and she calls that one cow-cat. I think our friend has captured most of the barn cats and taken them to the V-E-T to be snip-snipped. After snip-snip, they don't let her touch them anymore. But that is ok, they come around for their meals, and a nice place to sleep on the porch or her barn.

My human said something about the gym, then groceries, and then she was coming back to see me! I waited at the front window for my human to come home, so I go walk over to the front window by the door. Just then, what did I see... Yup! A big face staring right back at me. I was so mad to see the big black and tan dog. I hissed and showed my teeth and a batted at the window. The big black and tan dog just looked at me with some surprised look, I mean, sheesh, that dog should not be surprised because she was on my territory, and I am going to defend it. Well, then a second later, another face showed up in my window, and it was "visiting food lady". What was she doing out there with the black and tan dog? I could kind of make out what she was saying. Visiting food lady said something like, "It is ok kitty, we were just walking by to say hi!" I like the visiting food lady, but I am not sure about the company she keeps. So, I took it upon myself to hiss more, and bat against the window to tell the visiting food lady to move it along, and take that black and tan thing with her. At least visiting food lady understood me, she said goodbye and lead that black and tan dog off with a string. I sure told them! Later, my human came home and I made sure I told my human about how I defended my territory. Yup, my human always says to me on the way out, "Kitty, be good and gaurd the house." I did exactly that.

this is Hope, my neighbor

This is what I saw the other day. This is Hope, my neighbor. We stare at each other through our windows. I am not happy to see her most of the time. Good thing there are windows between us. The other day I looked out, and there was Hope, and her human give her a bowl of kitty milk for Hope to enjoy while staring at me through her window. Lucky Kitty. I want kitty milk, but my humans only give me kibble. And sometimes, when Hope's humans open the door, she runs really fast around them and makes a bee-line straight to my window to look at me more. I hiss, and swat at the window when Hope does that. I do not like it when Hope runs up and stares at me! I just do not like it at all! What is so interesting about me that she has to keep looking at me?

Chicken U

These chickens are scholars, they are at a University in Tennessee. I wonder what they had to do to get in to the University? Their dorm is a really nice spacious house, they have a house keeper to clean up after them, and they have a 7-day per week meal plan and a chef to cater to their dining needs. Like a lot new students, these chickens seem to spend a lot of time just hanging out in the quadrangle outside their dorm, they seem to flock together when they are on the move. I wonder if any of them are good on the computer keyboard, or do they have to hunt and peck for the letters?

I ran across this blog post at A Malaysian Kitchen in Manchester, the UK. Hazza saw caged cats in a market place in Malaysia. Why are the cats there? Are they pets? Are they for sale? Are they there for people to eat? Hazza, who is of Malaysian origin himself, has never heard of people eating cats, and me, I have never heard of anyone eating cats. Eating fish, chicken, duck, turkey, even kangaroo seems to be ok, but not cat! This gives a whole new meaning to "Cat Food".

This is Lucy Kitty. My human is cheating on me with this cat. Every few weeks, my human keeps on leaving with the luggage, and then coming back days later with the smell of this cat all over the clothes and shoes. My human told me that Lucy reminds her of me, and Lucy is just so darn cute. My human said that Lucy is very sweet, likes to petted and likes to relax a lot. It is true, I am darn cute, I am sweet, I do like to be petted and I do like to relax a lot. If I am all that, how come My Human has to leave me so much and go pet Lucy Kitty?

The other day, I saw this big bird land in my neighbor's driveway. I looked and looked through the window. I thought the bird might make a good lunch for me, if only I could get outside to catch the bird. Then, I saw it was a vulture who might want to make me lunch! This little guy kept on following the humans! They went to the shores of Lake Erie, and walked on the greenway to see what they could see. This is what they saw! This squirrel! This little guy followed them for a half mile looking to get some chow. They had no chow for this little guy. As a matter of fact, they don't have much chow for me either, just my two small bowls of food each day.

Django - The Good Dog
April 1994 - April 2009

Django was a good dog. He was a typical retriever in that he liked to carry things in his mouth when on walks. He liked carrying his ball, sticks, and toys. His pretty fur (notice his fur color is quite like my fur color) would flitter in the wind when he would go jogging in the neighborhood. He liked peanut butter dog treats. He was so friendly to everyone. When out for walks and jogs in the neighborhood, everyone wanted to pet Django because he was just a nice dog. He was always friendly with cats (good thing for me). He was the The Good Dog. Django's body just gave out and succumbed to that giant tumor that was growing in his gut. I will miss Django - The Good Dog.

This is my new Condo! I really like it! It has lots of surfaces to scratch, it has a toy dangling from it, and there is a bit of cat nip sprinkled on the top. What more can one cat ask for?

Potbelly Pigs

My humans went to visit friends who live on a farm where they have a bunch of potbelly pigs, a few dogs to protect and live with the pigs, and a few cats who live indoors with keep the humans company. This place they call it a potbelly rescue place. All of the 400 lbs (200 Kg) pigs were found living in terrible urban conditions, in dire health and all alone. These pigs are social animals who need to see sunshine, and feel earth under their feet. They also need to have their toe nails cut on a regular basis. They also need to have their tusks trimmed too, or they will grow into their faces, and cause bad things to happen to their faces. Here at the farm, the piggies have nice piggy and dog friends to live with, nice little houses for themselves, great pedicures and teeth care, lots of nutritous food and water. They seem to be happier than a pig in slop. Overseeing the whole farm is girl kitty. She watches from inside her picture window, and makes sure all the piggies are happy.

Oh, that cat Buddy came by to taunt me today. You remember this day with Buddy coming on to my back porch. Well, I taught him a lesson, by batting and hissing at the window that stood between me and him. He was lucky there was a window. Well, that cat had some nerve come up to my back door window again. I let him have it through the window. I hissed, growed, and batted. He got my message and turned tail and walked away. Again, I told Buddy who is boss at my house.

Remie the Golden Cat

Remie the Golden Cat suddenly went over the rainbow bridge last week. Remie was a friend of mine. He was a velcro-kitty Burmese, aka lover boy. He just loved to be petted while sitting next to or on laps. His humans brought home Rafie, and black kitty to keep Remie company, and they became fast friends too. The picture above is Remie sleeping with Rafie. Remie had beautiful lion colored fur, and sometimes, in the right light, his fur was the same color as my fur. Remie was a sweet boy who never met a stranger. He welcomed one and all to his house. I will miss Remie.

What a funny sight they had the other day during the rains that came after Gustav passed nearby. The make-shift petting zoo at a little festival had a little bit of hay on the ground with a small little tent above to offer shade during the day, and a little shelter during rain. Well, these animals did not want to be caught in the rain. There was a little white birdy sitting on the goat's back, and the chicken was sitting on the donkey's back. They were all huddled together under the little tent area to stay dry. I think that they found friendship under joint adverse conditions.

New Cats to My Home WCB

One of my humans came back from a trip and brought me these 3 kitties! Aren't they cute. The kitties are from Goebel, and designed by artist Rosina Wachtmeister. My human brought home the middle kitty because this kitty looks like me. I like these kitties, but admittedly, I would have liked some tasty treat more. My humans seem to think these Rosina Goebel's are really cute, and my humans display these kitties up on the mantle.

Meet Delbert

This is Delbert, he is a new neighbor of mine. He came to live with my neighbors one day a few weeks ago. He was whimpering, all scrapped up, had a broken leg, and was all skin and bones. It looked like some mean terrible person tossed Delbert from a car on a busy street near my house. I know what it is like to be left on the mean streets alone, and it is scary and no fun. My neighbors picked up this poor little puppy and took him to the vet. He is such a good boy at the vet, and he never fussed. The vet patched him up, put a cast on his leg and told him to be a good boy and eat lots of food because he was so skinny. Delbert gets to eat all the puppy chow he wants. Look at his picture now! He is filling in quite nicely and his scrapes and bruises are all gone now. His favorite thing to do is to nuzzle up and sleep with the other 2 dogs at his house. His second favorite thing is to have attention and pets from his new humans. His surrogate dog mom loves Delbert and is having fun teaching him to play and to be a good dog. Delbert has been so good about going wee-wee outside. He knows how to go to the back door to tell the humans he wants to go outside. Everyone who meets Delbert has fallen in love with him. My humans always want to go see him and pet him. If you lived here, you too would really like Delbert too because he is a cute and lovable little puppy dog.

Cats Weep this Week WCB

Our dear friends at Astrid's food blog and the Cat Boys Kashim and Othello are hosting Weekend Cat Blog. To participate in remembering Sher, her Weekend Cat Blogs and her great talent at cooking, visit Astrid and the Cat Boys and tell your story. The Cat Boys said to go to Sher's website and pick out one of my favorite recipes and blog about it. I think this might be a nice way to celebrate the memory of Sher, the dear blog friend. Sher was a fantastic food blogger and Weekend Cat Blogger. Sher slipped away from this Earth on Monday, and I will miss her.

I was shocked to read about Sher's passing. I was saddened by the passing of Upsie, the fabulous cat, and I am saddened by the passing of Sher, Upsie's dedicated human. I may have only know Sher through her blog, but every time I check into her blog, it was like getting a nice neck and ear scratch that would cause me to purr.

So to help celebrate the memory of Sher, I am supposed to say what recipe I like best. Well, it would have to be a recent one that Laura kitty cat enjoyed too. It would have to be SARDINES! Yes indeed. I really do like tastes of SARDINES!

Look at how lushous these Sardines that Sher made are! All the cats, Sher, and even the birds enjoyed the sardines. When I saw those Sardines, I just wanted a nibble for myself!

I am purring in your direction dear Sher. Please know you touched so many bloggers in such a lovely way. I will miss you and your blog so much Sher. I am grateful for the time on we shared on this Earth and internet blog. I am sad, and my human is sad too with wet eyes.

Here I am hanging around one of my favorite spots in the house. When my humans brought home this round thing, they rubbed catnip on it. mmmm catnip. When I scratch on the sides of it, I get treats. I tried scratching on the carpeted floor, and the humans just make loud noise that I dislike. I now just scratch on the round thing, and get treats. I also like sitting on and sleeping on my round thing. When I do sleep on my round think, I just fit, and only a little bit of me flows over the sites. That is all I have to say about my round thing today.

I have really lushous fur. My humans love sticking their hands into my thick, triple undercoat fur. I have the softest fur my humans and the V.E.T. has ever felt! I am quite proud of my fur. I don't have much to give to my humans, but I have plenty of fur. Fur is what I have, and it is what I offer. I leave it for them on the bed, on the couch, on the blankets and on the floor. It is my way of giving back to my humans. They love me and they love my fur.

The week before my humans went on vacation, they were annoying. They kept on taking pictures of me. They took photos of my face, my paws, my tummy, and my fur. Silly people. The told me that they were going to miss me, and they wanted photos to look at while on vacation. If they were going to miss me so much, how come they didn't take me too? Or better yet, stay home with me! Sheesh. Oh well, I had a great time at home with the pet sitters. They all love me, and they all got to see me, the real thing, not just a photo.

Dear Upsie, I will miss you

My humans got home from a long vacation (they did not bother to take me, and the pet sitter did not use the computer to show me cool cats), and my humans logged into the computer and let me see one of my favorite computer websites, with one of the coolest cats - Upsie. That is when I saw the news, Upsie has passed away. I miss her already. Upsie, you were the coolest cat, and I am sad you are gone. Meows, purrs and headbutts to Sher. I am so sorry.

I got tagged! I got tagged by China Cat, who happens to be one of the most gorgeous ginger kitties in the whole world. Go check out China Cat's blog and see for yourself. The meme that China Cat tagged me with is 3 new things about me.

It's nice and simple, all you need to do is tell everyone 3 things that are new with you! Link it back to me and the purrson who gave it to you and pass it on to 3 more kitties you'd like to know more about! :)

Here are the 3 new things about me:
1. Two nights ago, I found the secret tunnel in the duvet cover, and I found in the tunnel, a super soft binky. I crawled as far as I could into the super secret tunnel and to find the bestest spot of binky. It appealed to me, so I slept there for a good long while. No one could see me because I was in the duvet cover tunnel.
2. When I see birds outside my window, I try to talk to them. I make clicky sounds, like a bird would with its beak. I want to lure the birds near me, so I can snatch them up. For some reason, the bird ignore me.
3. I don't mind getting my tummy rubbed under the right circumstances. When I circle around two times, and then finally find the right spot to lie down next to one of my human's faces, I like to have my head, neck and tummy rubbed.

The three cool cats I would like to tag with this meme are:
1. Kamikaze is the biggest kitty I have ever seen. Kamikaze and I are both Japanese kitties living somewhere else besides Japan. I am pretty sure I have never been to Japan.
2. Spice Cats are the sweetest fluffiest cats out there. They have a nice life.
3. Luxor's full name is His Highness Luxor the Undulant of New Invention. I mean, come on, with that name, wouldn't you want to know more about a kitty with that name?

Tasha, from Gypsy and Tasha has given to me the FABULOUS Blogger of the World Award! It is just really a neat-o award! I am so honored. Colin at Life originated the award, and he would like all Blogger of the World Award winners to link back to him as the origin of the award. So Colin, here is your link back to where the award all started.

What I really am excited about is to show you a photo of me, and a photo of Tasha, who gave me the award! I am a big fluffy ginger girl kitty in the photo above. In the sun, I look more caramel, and at night I look more orange. I have lots of pretty white and orange rings on my tail, and I like to nap a lot. In the photo above, I was just about to fall asleep when my human took the photo.

Now look at Tasha, I can barely keep my sparkling yellow eyes off her 'cuz she looks a lot like me! Look at her pretty fur, and pretty stripes! If you look at this photo of Tasha, you can see her tail has white in it too, just like mine. She has such pretty rings on her tail. Can you believe how cute and pretty she is? She is the first ginger girl kitty I have ever seen, and who looks a lot like me. I mean, there are plenty of orange boy kitties, who are handsome in their own right, but just look at Tasha, she is just uniquely spectacular! I would know 'cuz I am a ginger girl too. Thank you Tasha for the award.

1. Katz Tales because there are 2 really cute kitties, Target and Au (and Scoop who I will always remember). Notice how pretty the kitties' fur are. Nice huh!

Happy New Year every cool cat!

I live in the city, and all I get to see are squirrels, sparrows, robins, and dogs on leashes. We don't have fresh chickens in the city. I have long heard stories of free fresh chicken for the taking, but I always that that was lore. Then, there it was with a bunch of other free fresh chickens running around the holiday island. I think it would be awesome to chase and catch some fresh chicken, if I were any kind of hunter.

Xmas Kitty WCB#133

This is my neighbor Felix the cat. 12 years ago, he was a little kitty that lived outside in a pile of leaves in New Jersey. The girl, when she was really little, and when Felix was really little, would seek food from her plate and run outside to feed little Felix. Then one day, the girl's mama saw the little girl run out to the back in the middle of the winter and crawl into the bushes covered in snow. What could the little girl be up to? There he was, little Felix living in a pile of leaves waiting for his daily dinner from the girl, who became his favorite human. The girls mama tried to pick little Felix up, but he was scared and hissed at her. So, the little girl picked up Felix and took him inside. That is where he grew up, and where he lives today. He loves all his humans now, and he even lets the girl's mama pick him up and hug him. He also likes the neighbors (like my humans) to sneak him tasty bits of turkey from the table... shhhhh, don't tell. Merry xmas everyone. And may all the winter kitties looking for homes be so lucky as Felix to have a loving furrever home.

Meet Jack Daniels WCB #132

Meet Jack Daniels. Well, I don't know if kitty's name is Jack Daniels, but the kitty is the welcoming committee to the Jack Daniel's Distillery. Jack was waiting on the walkway and provided a warm welcome to all the people visiting. Jack even got to go inside the reception hall to say hello to all the employees. I wonder if Jack has ever gotten to take a sip of the nip if you know what I mean.

My Scarf - WCB 128

I am just a really good sport. My human, for some unknown reason to me, brought home a scarf for me. The human said it was gonna be so cute on me, and the design was just perfect with orange kitties that look like me, and gray tuxies that look like my neighbor Hope. Since I am used to wearing a collar, I was a good girl and let this thing be put around my neck, and I actually decided not to fuss. Well, I tell ya, with all the flashbulbs, and ooos and ahhs from the human, and looks of "your nutty" from the other human, I decided I had to hide. Here I am getting ready to jump down from the couch, and crawl under it.

It is All Souls Day today, and I have taken that to mean ALL Souls from days gone by. I wanted to show you what the kids did to celebrate the pet souls that past over to the other side. They Went Where? WCB #125

They left me for hours! They left me all by myself with no food in my bowl! Then, they came home after dark and what did I smell? Eeesh! These are the things I smelled.

This one is CJ. She smells like a cat.

This one is scaredee cat. She also smells like a cat.

This is the smoked chicken I smelled, yet not one bite was brought back to me after I starved all day long. How dare they bring back the scent of 2 cats and chicken, and not one bite for me. Oh well, I guess I have to eat my kibble.

Oh it is an OH kitten - WCB #116

This little kitty was found abandoned on the side of the road, no eyes open, not moving, in Ohio. We don't know where she came from, or where her mama went. Two very nice humans picked her up, as you can see. The humans said they are taking the baby kitten home with them and raiser her like their own. I wish this new family good luck!

I have been nominated for a Schmooze Award by Scoop and Au at Katztales! I didn't even know that this award existed. Wow!

This award was started by Mike at the Gummy- the love sick alien blog, and he defined the Schmoozing award. Schmoozing as defined by Dictionary.com is the ability “to converse casually, especially in order to gain an advantage or make a social connection.” When it comes to blogging, schmoozing is your ticket to making new friends, getting yourself noticed and building a reputation. Meet Peanut WCB #108

This is peanut. He was busy eating food last week to have his picture taken. He is done eating and here he is. Peanut and his Mama are good companions. I like his coloring, and his whiskers because these attributes remind me of some cool cat. Peanut was the runt of the litter, but now he is 15 pounds of pure mouser muscle. Just look at that face, do you think a mouse would make it anywhere near the shipments? I think not. His favorite treats are temptations, and he likes pets and attention of all the people who come by to visit everyday.

Cats on the Payroll - WCB #107

Take a good look. These cats are working cats, and are as smart as a rocket scientist. They are on the NASA payroll. Really they are! The cats are responsible for the vermon security at the shipping and receiving warehouse, and they take no prisoners. You will not see one fugitive mouse or rat on their watch. These cats are the best paid cats in all of NASA. They get paid in food, treats, fresh water, and all the mice they can catch. They also get paid in vet bills as well, but shhh, they don't like the word V-E-T, much like me.

The story behind these kitties is that Mama Kitty, the grey tabby, was dropped off, big and pregnant at the gateline. She told her story of being knocked up, how everyone abandoned her, she was needing work for food so she could care for her kittens, and that she would be a good employee if NASA would give her a chance. The head guy took pity on Mama and gave her a job in the warehouse. A few days later, still working, Mama gave birth to her kittens, including her son Peanut, the big orange kitty. The other kittens grew up and decided to live with others, but Peanut, the runt of the pack decided to take on the family business of guarding the warehouse. NASA saw the wisdom of having two vermon employees on site, and when Peanut was old enough to be on the payroll, they signed him up too. That was about 10 years ago when Mama Kitty was first dropped off at the gate. Mama Kitty was right, she is a great employee doing her job, and she is also a very well liked employee, and many other employees come by to say hello to her everyday.

WCB #103 Bruno Update

Do you recall when that little black kitty stole my humans for week? It was terrible for me. All my human did was come home, pet me, feed me, give me fresh water, and leave to roll in the scent of the little black kitty. It was a good week when that little black kitty got a home and a real name, Bruno. I am pleased my humans are not coming home covered in another's scent anymore. I am pleased to announce that Bruno and his sister Skeeter happily share the dinner table together. My humans are all mine again! Mine, all Mine!

1. I am kind of really scared of bad rainstorms.

4. I like sleeping on my humans' stomachs when they are sleeping.

6. I am a little pissy when other cats come onto my deck.
7. These humans took me in one cold December day. I finally let a human pick me up after being seen for 2 weeks in freezing tempertures by their friend. That friend took me to that darn V-E-T and he said that I was a mere 5 lbs, and nearly frozen to death. One more day in the cold, and I could have been a goner. I now have climate control, lots of windows, and lots of food and water.

Tennessee Kittens Are Here - WCB 98

Tis the season for kittens in the fine state of Tennessee. There are at least 4 new kittens (look closely cuz there is one who is the same color as mama) now.

Let me tell you how lucky mama and kittens are. NicoleSauce got a 2nd house, and there she saw a lovely fat blond kitty walking up to her. Blondy was purring, and looking like she needed some pets and love. NicoleSauce walked to all the neighbors asking who owns such a plump and pretty kitty? The neighbors said no to Blondy, so NicoleSauce ended up taking Blondy back to her 1st house for a little food and water, and a nice bed made of binkies and towels. I think Blondy was happy! The next morning, there was Blondy and 4 cute kittens of all different colorings! There is a baby blondy, a baby ginger, a baby grey, and a baby patch-work black and orange! I really like the ginger kitten because the ginger kitten is going to grow up and look like me! Mama kitty is FeLeuk and FeAids NEGATIVE, and is healthier than an Ox, and the babies have grown by leaps and bounds in just one week, showing how healthy they are too!

Just Hanging Around WCB97

One of my humans went to an art open at a lovely gallery called Hanging Around. Guess who my human saw? That is right, a sleek black kitty who runs the the place. He was just sitting in the middle of the action,, and he was just Hanging Around. He was not too annoyed with all the people packed into the place until he had to make his way through the crowd to his house for a nap.

Here is the kitty's house. It is quite large, and luxurious if you ask me. It was often mistaken for an art piece that night, and people wanted to buy his house. I am sure he would not want his house sold out from under him.

Sleeping in the Dryer WCB #92

Meet these two smart kitties from the Gulf Coast. You might miss the white kitty cuz she is white, the same color as the warm laundry that is in the dryer. See this gorgeous orange kitty that looks so much like me? These kitties always like the the dryer after the dryer is done and when all the clothes and sheets are warm.
I would like to let you know that the white kitty is 2 years old and now deaf. Her hearing condition wasn't always this way, rather over the last 2 years, it seems that the kitty has been having hearing progressive hearing loss. She is a very smart kitty, and can read sign language now. Her human taught her "come" and "food" in sign language, and will continue on with other signing.

He's Home! He's Home!

Little Black Kitty has a home! Little Black Kitty has a home! YAY! Little Black Kitty has a real name too! His name is Bruno! YAY! Bruno also has the lap of luxury that he deserves. Bruno's human likes to tap on his leg, and Bruno is more than happy to hop up on his lap to sit for hours to purr, to be petted and to nap. Bruno's lap of luxury is his favorite place to be.

When Bruno was at the vet last week, Bruno did not want to come out of the cat carrier becuase he was so scared and he was in pain. Then, when he got to his furrever home, Bruno knew right away that he was in a safe place, and walked right onto his human's lap of luxury. Bruno was so happy to be able to sit on his human's lap, and that is where he has stayed for long time.

The other human who lives there was medicine lady, and Bruno wasn't so sure about the meds. But as the week went on, Bruno's injuries started to heal, and Bruno did not mind getting meds as much. Now, all the meds are done, and just look at Bruno, his face is completely healed and waiting for the hair and whiskers to grow back, he can open that eye that was hit, and he can now jump up on the computer table to keep his human's company while they work on the computer!

Bruno's ordeal of of that terrible morning when he found himself hit by a car in the middle of a busy intersection is now a faint memory because he NOW has the best home in Nashville! YAY!

Here is Bruno's dog sister. This dog's first best friend was a cat, and I think that she wants to be friends with Bruno too. She loves to kiss kitties, and pal around with kitties.

Here is Bruno's dog brother, the happiest dog on Earth! This dog is very gentle and happy to live in his home. He loves his humans, his food, his chew toys, his treats, his yard, and he loves Bruno.

Here is Bruno's cat sister. Bruno has been trying to make advances to be friends with her. As all big sisters are like, she is fine having a new brother, but she wants to make sure that everyone knows she is the big sister. I would like to call your attention to the fact that SHE is Bruno's complete opposite! She is a girl kitty with beautiful white fur, and Bruno is a boy kitty with beautiful black fur!

Here is Bruno on the most luxurious pillow in the house. Please everyone, congratulate this family of lovely humans, dogs and cats for a new little brother Bruno. And Please compliment Bruno for healing up so well, and that he is looking so handsome!

WCB #90 part 2, Rescued Kitty

My human has not been faithful to me, I can smell another cat, GASP, it is a boy cat! Oh what am I to do? What? What is that? Allow my humans to type. OH, well, fine, I am out of here.

A cat is going to need a home and a lap of luxury. Can you help me find a great home in Nashville?

This little black kitty (LBK) was found in the middle of a very busy intersection of Wedgewood and 12 Ave. South in Nashville during rush hour. He had been hit by a car, or tossed out of a car. I stopped and a woman stopped to help LBK, and we took LBK to the vet. LBK is in a fantastic foster care situation now, so LBK can heal up, and get the remaining course of antibiotics. Amazingly, the vet said that LBK has no broken bones, only some trauma to his face.

LBK is a neutered male, 2-3 years old, 9 lbs, loves to sit on laps to be petted, and seems to be ok around big dogs, and another cat. LBK is short hair black cat with white tuffs on his stomach and his chest. He titer tested negative to FeLeuk and FeAIDS, he is not sneezing or coughing (so no cat herpes), and the vet fully vaccinated LBK.

Here I am! I think I look skinner in this picture than last week. I think just have a lot of tummy fur right? Yeah, I am furry. My humans say I am furry. Here is a secret about me...
I like to roll over and have my humans scratch my tummy! It is great, and I love it!

Black Kitty in my Yard WCB#87

I don't get out much. I actually don't get out at all. I do sit next to the big back window and I see outdoor black kitty often. She had opted for a hard life. You see, she was captured once by a neighbor and taken to the vet for "the operation". The neighbor tried to keep black kitty in, feed her, give her filtered water, pet her, love her, but one day, a few years ago, black kitty got by the neighbors leg and out the door to live outside. Now black kitty lives in the 'hood, and takes refuge on the nice blanket and chair set up just for her in another neighbor's garage. Black kitty just won't come in, no matter what stinky squishy food all the neighbors and my humans put out for her.

She is scared to come to close to the door cuz she knows all the neigbhors and my human want her to come in.Here is black kitty getting ready to walk down the stairs to go visit other kitties in the windows. My humans like black kitty. I must admit I am a bit territorial and I make a big fuss every time black kitty comes up on my deck. Meow!

Julius is like a Cat WC#86

Don't blink, but Julius is kind of like a cat. Julius is a neighbor, he lives right down the street. He likes to dance. Really he does! If you put some Motown or Stax on, look at Julius, and dance next to him, he will sway back and forth too. He is a good dancer. He also likes to eat treats right out his human's fingers. He is one smart turtle. My human said I can only look at him, not eat him. I guess it would be tough to try to eat him cuz he is a big turtle.So, here I am at my food bowl eating my kibble catered by my human cuz I have not turtle to eat.

My Binky WCB#85

Ok, I have told you about many pet neighbors, and pet friends, so I will tell you about me and my day. I have a favorite winter evening spot, it is on my chair with my binky. My binky was made by my human's mom, with very soft hypo-allergenic yarn. I like to make the binky even softer by kneading it over and over and over and over while I purr. It is a comfy and cozy place to curl up. Sometimes, my people use my binky to cover their laps, so I just hop on and sleep there.

Mouse Meal WCB#84

My humans had a party the other day, and people came to my house. They brought presents for the humans, and some brought presents for me too. One person brought me a very nice plate, as you can see. It is a wonderful picture of a black and white kitty ready to share a mouse meal. I love my new plate. My human put it on the living room table, so I can see my pretty plate everyday.

new Skeeter to the neighborhood!

Meet new Skeeter! Skeeter is a little white kitty who is very sweet. She came to my neighbors house a couple weeks ago from the shelter. She was a lucky kitten because a nice human took her, her bothers and sisters, and her mama in, and let Skeeter grow up big enough to live in her own house. See how good and healthy Skeeter looks! Foster human did a good job. Skeeter's new home is shared by that 4 letter word starting with D - DOGS. Yes, dogs, you read that right cool cats.

This Golden boy is a good ol' dog. He isn't so bad I guess. He seems to be happy no matter what he is doing. He will make Skeeter a good big dog brother.

This German girl, well, I swear she was trained by Golden boy because she is the happiest dog ever! When she comes by my house, she loves to do a "Buddy" by running up to the window and look at me, as if she wants to play with me.

I guess I shouldn't be too afraid of German girl because she just loves to kiss the new kitty.
