Sleeping in the Dryer WCB #92
Meet these two smart kitties from the Gulf Coast. You might miss the white kitty cuz she is white, the same color as the warm laundry that is in the dryer. See this gorgeous orange kitty that looks so much like me? These kitties always like the the dryer after the dryer is done and when all the clothes and sheets are warm.
I would like to let you know that the white kitty is 2 years old and now deaf. Her hearing condition wasn't always this way, rather over the last 2 years, it seems that the kitty has been having hearing progressive hearing loss. She is a very smart kitty, and can read sign language now. Her human taught her "come" and "food" in sign language, and will continue on with other signing.Visit Upsie, the pigeon, and Sundance for more stories for the Weekend Cat Blogging.

A cat who signs? I love it! The only signs Scoop and Au know is the hand-flap that says, "Don't yell at me when I'm talking on the phone!"
Those kitties look very happy. About the only sign language I know is "the wave." (Mom always waves to each one of us when she's leaving.)

us white kitties often get deaf, i think it has something to do with superior intelligence.....

White cats with 2 blue eyes are often born deaf because the gene that causes the lack of pigmentation in the coat and eyes also cause the inner ear to not fully develop. A white cat with one blue eye might be deaf on that one side. This is interesting to learn that they can end up going deaf as well. Too bad. We're glad he is learning to compensate for it!

Hello 40 paws, it is amazing this little white kitty used to be able to hear. Either she is really good at ignoring everything, including the food bell, she has lost most of her hearing. I didn't know kitties could go deaf just like humans.

Hi DH, the cutest hairless cat, Yes, those two are quite comfortable in the warm dryer. They love it when it is the end of laundry day, and they can nap in the dryer.
